Day 5: Soothing

Whew, it is never easy to look at our shadow and name where we are hurting self and others. And it is so powerful. So take a moment to hug yourself, brave one. In order to heal the world we must name and bring up into the air the places that have been stagnant. Then it’s time to learn how to self-soothe. For Day 5 of our Warrior Goddess Anti-Resolution Challenge we focus on the all-important skill of embodying ways to calm, hold, and settle ourselves.

Soothing is something that we can learn, but we must bring it from our heads into our bodies. Thinking nice thoughts is not enough; we must bring our compassion and tenderness very viscerally to the parts of us that are acting out, disconnecting, or terrified and anxious. We are learning how to mama ourselves as we would mama a hurt, scared puppy or child.

Today your challenge is to make new habits and responses from deep self-love and self-care.
