Welcome, Dear Writer!
Is your attachment to the past or the future causing you suffering?
It is not easy to let go! But it is so, so much better than holding on and being dragged…
In this guide we will explore how to shift from control (or being controlled) to honoring the cycles and creatively letting go to flow with, rather than against, life.
The truth is simple:
Life is perfectly imperfect,
unpredictable, and unexplainable.
Take a pause and look around. This is a new day. Can you let go of what came before and release what may come?
Just for a moment settle into right now. How can you make this precious day a wonderful day? How can you look with new eyes at everything around you? Even in the most challenging times the world offers itself up delights and wonders if we are willing to look for them.
The power of pushing past your fears, striving to go beyond where you’ve gone before, finding your limit and going further must always be balanced with the wisdom of letting go and surrendering everything up.
This is the dance of creativity in everything we do: to listen for right timing of when to keep going and when to release. What I’ve found that helps is to practice both separately: to really feel in your body what it feels like to push and put energy towards something, to tap into the strength and force of birthing something.
And then to explore the opposite: what does it feel like to release and surrender everything up, and to tap into the importance and vulnerability of letting go completely. Eventually you’ll discover the grace to open wider and hold both action and surrender simultaneously.
What a blessing to know the difference between what you can change and what you can’t.
When you try to control life, you operate from the illusion that if you only try hard enough you can fix everything. But that type of thinking only creates stress and drama and a feeling that you are not doing it “right.”
When you befriend surrender, you learn to discern what you can change and then take action. Those things you can’t change you gently offer up into the hands of a larger force and then let go.
Your job is not to try to control life or even understand it.
Your job is to consciously choose what you are aligning with and then let go, and dance in joy and gratitude for every moment of existence.

Meet Your Guide,
HeatherAsh Amara
Welcome, Dear One!
I believe we have a choice to use everything in our lives to grow our capacity and presence, or we can use everything against ourselves.
I love guiding people to become their own best friend and ally — turning challenges into healing and obstacles into gold.
I’m the author of the best-selling book — Warrior Goddess Training.
My latest book — Wild, Willing, and Wise: When to Paddle, When to Rest, and When to Jump Naked into the River of Life is now in stores.
I’m a Sundoor Firewalk Instructor and Empowerment Trainer and the transformative heart of my teachings come through my long Toltec apprenticeship and teaching partnership with don Miguel Ruiz Sr., author of The Four Agreements.
I bring 35 years of teaching and training experience and all of my hard-won lessons and real-world tools to help you be who you’re meant to be — strong yet soft, creative and courageous, empowered but not aggressive.
Fun fact: My parents named me Heather.
The “Ash” in my name is from the firewalks I started facilitating many years ago. It reminds me of the energy of the phoenix rising from the ashes and the power all of us have to transform from the inside out.
I prefer to be called HeatherAsh, though if that is too much of a mouthful, you can call me Ash.
